![]() If you were EA, would you pick this engine for a new game? I doubt you would because regardless of its technical merit it is a potential "business continuity" nightmare if there is an owner spat or if the engine is licensed to more customers than BeamNG can effectively support. Unless a major studio, or a major independent project like Star Citizen picks the BeamNG engine up the company will just fade away. BeamNG is essentially a startup, with 2 programmers and 2 artists. Then you have to consider the business side of things. You say it's core technology, maybe from a technical perspective it is, but from an end-user perspective deformation/destruction is way down a long list of things the end-user cares a whole lot more about than whether some piece of car (for example) falls off like it would in the real world. ![]() The physics in a game are secondary to gameplay.
